SeaScare and Porch Light Parade - City of Brier

2024 Photos
What a perfect night for a parade and event. Warm and sunny - not too hot. Thanks as always to our sponsors, public works for preparing the site, the Brier police, city staff, council members and public works staff for directing traffic. And, your volunteer park board, their family and freinds that make this all happen.
If you have any pictures you feel should be on this page - send them on over, we'll review and post them. parks@ci.brier.wa.us
Grand Marshall - Craig Harris
Craig was the creator of SeaScare, the Godfather if you will. Hatched by an idea over beers with Ken Overstreet at Brier Pizza some 20 plus years ago. As the beers flowed, so did the ideas. A parade - anyone know of a pipe band, art cars? Yes they did and they were off to the races. The ideas were pitched to then mayor, Wayne Kaske. Who took it to City Council and the challenge was made. Pull it together in the next couple months and the city would support it with road and police control. The rest is Brier history.
Craig also wrote the Carmichael song that all Brier Elementary students learn for SeaCucumber Day every June. That was also Craig's idea. And he was the executive producer of Charmichael - The Motion Picture.
